How Storage Works
See how to bring all your storage together in one place.
Follow the steps to connect external storage or create managed storage resources, so your applications and systems can use them from one place.
Approximate setup time: 2 to 5 minutes
Step 1: Create a Namirasoft Account
Sign in once for everything
A Namirasoft Account gives you access to Namirasoft Storage and every other Namirasoft application.
- Create a free Namirasoft Account
- If you already have one, simply sign in
Step 2: Create a Storage Resource
- Go to the Namirasoft Storage console
- Click Storage
- Click Create and give your storage a name
Step 3: Choose the Type of Storage
Connect external storage or use Namirasoft managed storage.
Each option requires different information. See Storage Types for what to enter.
External Storage
Connect storage from providers such as Google Drive, Amazon S3, Azure Blob Storage, SFTP, and others.
Namirasoft Managed Storage
Use storage provided and hosted by Namirasoft.
Step 4: Choose a Region
Choose the Namirasoft region where your storage runs. This can affect latency and compliance.
This region is separate from any region a storage type may ask for in its own fields, such as your bucket’s region on Amazon S3.
Step 5: Create and Select a Log Group
Keep a Record of Your Storage’s Activity
A storage resource can store its activity logs in a Log Group from Namirasoft Log. Create a log group, then select it while configuring your storage.
- Click the + icon, where you are redirected to Namirasoft Log, and choose a name
- Set the Retention UnitRetention UnitDefines the time unit used for log retention, for example hours, days, or months. and Retention ValueRetention ValueDefines how long logs are retained based on the selected unit.
- Click Apply and return to the Namirasoft Storage console
- Now select the created log group as the storage resource’s Log GroupLog GroupRecords this storage resource’s activity in Namirasoft Log so you can review it later for auditing and troubleshooting.
This step is optional. If you do not set a Log Group, the storage resource’s logs will not be stored in Namirasoft Log.
Step 6: Add a Description and Create
- Add an optional description
- Click Apply to save and create your storage
Once its status becomes Ready, the storage resource is available to your applications and systems.

How It Works FAQs
Common questions about setting up and using storage resources in Namirasoft Storage.
1. Do I need an account to get started?
Yes. Create a free Namirasoft Account to access Namirasoft Storage and every other Namirasoft application.
2. What is the difference between Namirasoft managed storage and connected external storage?
Namirasoft managed storage is created and hosted entirely by Namirasoft. You do not bring any storage of your own, Namirasoft provides and runs it for you. Connected external storage is storage you already own with another provider, such as Google Drive, Amazon S3, or SFTP. You connect it to Namirasoft Storage and manage it in one place, while the data stays in your own provider account.
3. What storage types can I connect?
You can connect a wide range of storage, including major cloud object storage, SFTP, and many more. See Storage Types in the Storage Console Guide for the full list and the fields each one needs.
4. Is a Log Group required?
No. A Log Group is optional. You can add or change it at any time to record activity for your storage in Namirasoft Log.
5. Do I need credentials for every storage resource?
Credentials are needed only for connected external storage, so Namirasoft Storage can access your account securely. Namirasoft managed storage does not require credentials.
6. Can I create more than one storage resource?
Yes. You can create as many storage resources as you need, each with its own type, region, settings, and access. The cost depends on each storage resource's type and usage, so see the Pricing page for details.
7. Can I change a storage resource later?
Yes. The console lists all your storage resources, and you can open any one to edit its settings, Log Group, and other details at any time.
8. Where can I find help with a specific field?
The Storage Console Guide explains every field for every storage type, including where to find each value.
