Entry Console Guide
This page provides a complete guide to using the Entry section of the Namirasoft Password Console. Entries represent the individual credentials you store for websites, services, or systems. This guide explains each field you encounter when creating or managing an entry so you understand how to organize, secure, and access your passwords effectively.
What Is an Entry?
An Entry is a secure record that stores login information for a specific website or service. Each entry can include credentials, descriptive details, and optional grouping to help you manage and retrieve passwords efficiently across the console and browser extension.
Entries are the foundation of your password vault. They are used by the console for management and by the browser extension to load saved passwords on login pages of the websites you visit.
Overview of Entry Fields and Options
Below is a detailed explanation of every field associated with an Entry. Understanding these fields helps you structure your vault clearly, control sensitivity, and ensure smooth use across devices.
-
ID (string): This is a unique identifier automatically assigned to the entry when it is created. This ID is generated by Namirasoft Password and is used internally to reference the entry. You do not need to set or manage this value.
-
User ID (Namirasoft Account’s ID): This is the unique ID assigned to a user of the Namirasoft Account, which gives access to all Namirasoft apps. This ensures entries are accessible only within the correct user context and are properly synchronized between the console and the browser extension.
-
Group (Enum): This allows you to associate the entry with a Group you have created. Groups are used purely for organization and recognition and help you categorize entries (for example, Work, Personal, Finance). Assigning a group is optional and does not affect how the entry functions.
-
Name (String): This is a human-readable label for the entry. This is how you recognize the entry in lists and popups. Choosing clear and descriptive names makes it easier to select the correct entry when multiple passwords exist for the same domain.
-
URL (Web Address): This defines the website or domain this entry is associated with. This field is used by the browser extension to determine when to show passwords on the login page of the website you are visiting. Accurate URL and domains ensure entries appear only where relevant.
-
User Name (String): This is the identifier used to sign in, such as a username or email address. This field can be marked as sensitive if you want it treated with the same protection level as the password.
- Password (Encrypted Data): In this field, users must enter the password associated with the URL. This value is always stored in encrypted form and is only accessible after unlocking your vault. Passwords can be entered manually or generated using templates.
-
Sensitive (Yes/ No): This checkbox controls whether the User Name and Password fields are treated as sensitive data. When enabled, these fields receive additional protection and are handled cautiously across the console and extension, helping prevent accidental exposure.
- Host (String): This represents the technical host associated with the entry. This field can be useful for advanced setups where multiple services share similar domains or when more precise matching is required.
-
Description (String): This is an optional text field used to add context or notes about the entry. Descriptions are helpful for explaining the purpose of the credential, usage conditions, or any special considerations for future reference.
-
Created At (DateTime): The date and time when the entry was originally created. This timestamp helps track when credentials were added to the vault and supports auditing and review over time.
-
Updated At (DateTime): The most recent date and time when the entry was modified. This updates whenever you change any part of the entry, such as the password, name, or grouping.
