How NWS Volume Works
See how to bring all your storage together in one place.
Follow the steps to connect external storage or create managed volumes, so your applications and systems can use them from one place.
Approximate setup time: 2 to 5 minutes
Step 1: Create a Namirasoft Account
Sign in once for everything
A Namirasoft Account gives you access to Namirasoft NWS Volume and every other Namirasoft application.
- Create a free Namirasoft Account
- If you already have one, simply sign in
Step 2: Create a Volume
- Go to the Namirasoft NWS Volume console
- Click Volume
- Click Create and give your volume a name
Step 3: Choose the Type of Storage
Connect external storage or use Namirasoft managed storage.
Each option requires different information. See Storage Types for what to enter.
External Storage
Connect storage from providers such as Google Drive, Amazon S3, Azure Blob Storage, SFTP, and others.
Namirasoft Managed Storage
Use storage provided and hosted by Namirasoft.
Step 4: Choose a Region
Choose the Namirasoft region where your volume runs. This can affect latency and compliance.
This region is separate from any region a storage type may ask for in its own fields, such as your bucket’s region on Amazon S3.
Step 5: Create and Select a Log Group
Keep a Record of Your Volume’s Activity
A volume can store its activity logs in a Log Group from Namirasoft Log. Create a log group, then select it while configuring your volume.
- Click the + icon, where you are redirected to Namirasoft Log, and choose a name
- Set the Retention UnitRetention UnitDefines the time unit used for log retention, for example hours, days, or months. and Retention ValueRetention ValueDefines how long logs are retained based on the selected unit.

- Now select the created log group as the volume’s Log GroupLog GroupRecords this volume’s activity in Namirasoft Log so you can review it later for auditing and troubleshooting.
This step is optional. If you do not set a Log Group, the volume’s logs will not be stored in Namirasoft Log.
Step 6: Add a Description and Create
- Add an optional description
- Click Apply to save and create your volume
Once its status becomes Ready, the volume is available to your applications and systems.

How It Works FAQs
Common questions about setting up and using volumes in Namirasoft NWS Volume.
1. Do I need an account to get started?
Yes. Create a free Namirasoft Account to access Namirasoft NWS Volume and every other Namirasoft application.
2. What is the difference between Namirasoft managed storage and connected external storage?
Namirasoft managed storage is created and hosted entirely by Namirasoft. You do not bring any storage of your own, Namirasoft provides and runs it for you. Connected external storage is storage you already own with another provider, such as Google Drive, Amazon S3, or SFTP. You connect it to Namirasoft NWS Volume and manage it in one place, while the data stays in your own provider account.
3. What storage types can I connect?
You can connect a wide range of storage, including major cloud object storage, SFTP, and many more. See Storage Types in the Volume Console Guide for the full list and the fields each one needs.
4. Is a Log Group required?
No. A Log Group is optional. You can add or change it at any time to record activity for your volume in Namirasoft Log.
5. Do I need credentials for every volume?
Credentials are needed only for connected external storage, so Namirasoft NWS Volume can access your account securely. Namirasoft managed storage does not require credentials.
6. Can I create more than one volume?
Yes. You can create as many volumes as you need, each with its own type, region, settings, and access. The cost depends on each volume's type and usage, so see the Pricing page for details.
7. Can I change a volume later?
Yes. The console lists all your volumes, and you can open any one to edit its settings, Log Group, and other details at any time.
8. Where can I find help with a specific field?
The Volume Console Guide explains every field for every storage type, including where to find each value.
