Wiper Console Guide
This page provides a guide to the Wiper entity in the Namirasoft Inference Console. It defines the concepts and configuration fields used when creating and managing Wipers. Use this guide to understand the purpose and behavior of each setting available during Wiper configuration.
What Is a Wiper?
A Wiper clears old data automatically, so nothing piles up. It works by time or by count, and it attaches wherever cleanup is needed, on any inferencer, on Classifiers, on Validators, and on Memory.
The Challenge a Wiper Solves
Stored context and logs grow without limit unless something removes them. Manual cleanup never happens on time.
Common challenges include:
- Unbounded growth: Memories and logs accumulate with every request. What made responses better slowly becomes weight.
- Cleanup as a chore: Deleting old data by hand is error prone and easy to forget. It competes with real work and loses.
- One policy never fits all: A chat memory, a classifier, and a log store each need their own retention. A single manual habit cannot serve them all.
How Namirasoft Inference Solves the Problem
You choose the policy Type and its value, and the Wiper runs automatically on a regular cycle. A time policy removes data older than the period you set, and a count policy keeps only the most recent entries up to your number. Attach one Wiper in the Common tab of any entity that stores data.
For example, a Wiper named “Thirty Day Cleanup” with a time policy of 30 days keeps a Memory lean by removing everything older than a month.
Overview of Wiper Fields and Options
Below is a detailed explanation of the fields available when creating or managing a Wiper. Understanding these fields helps ensure your Wiper is configured correctly for your requirements.
- ID (String): This is a unique identifier automatically assigned to the Wiper when it is created. The system uses it to track, reference, and manage this specific Wiper. This value is auto-generated and cannot be modified.
- User ID (Namirasoft Account’s ID): This is the unique identifier of the Namirasoft Account user who owns this Wiper. It is used internally for permission control, audit logging, and access management.
- Workspace ID (Namirasoft Workspace’s ID): This is the identifier of the workspace this Wiper belongs to, as defined in Namirasoft Workspace. A workspace is a shared organizational space where teams group their work, projects, and members.
- Name (String): This is a label used to identify this Wiper in the console. A good name states its policy. For example: “Keep 30 Days” or “Last 500 Entries”.
- Type (Enum): This is the cleanup policy. Time removes data older than the period you define. Count keeps only the most recent entries up to the number you define.
- Time Value (Integer): This applies when the type is Time. Together with the Unit, it defines the age limit, for example a Time Value of 30 with a Unit of Day removes data older than 30 days.
- Unit (Enum): This applies when the type is Time and sets the unit of the Time Value. The options are Day, Week, Month, and Year.
- Count (Integer): This applies when the type is Count. The Wiper keeps this many of the most recent entries and removes the rest.
- Description (String): This is optional explanatory text about this Wiper. Use it to describe the policy in plain words.
- Created At (DateTime): This is the date and time when this Wiper was created. This value is automatically generated and cannot be modified.
- Updated At (DateTime): This is the date and time when this Wiper configuration was last modified. This value is updated automatically whenever any field is changed.
