Budget Console Guide

This page provides a guide to the Budget entity in the Namirasoft Inference Console. It defines the concepts and configuration fields used when creating and managing Budgets. Use this guide to understand the purpose and behavior of each setting available during Budget configuration.

What Is a Budget?

A Budget is a spending ceiling that attaches to any inferencer. Spending stops where you set the limit, and usage totals stay visible. The same Budget can be shared across several inferencers, or each can carry its own.

For example, a Budget named “Monthly Cost Cap” with a 50 USD monthly limit stops new spending the moment the month reaches 50 USD, and spending resumes when the next month begins.

The Challenge a Budget Solves

AI spending is easy to start and hard to bound. Without a ceiling, one busy day or one runaway loop becomes an invoice.

Common challenges include:

  • No ceiling: Nothing stops spending at a number you chose in advance. The limit is whatever happened.
  • Limits stuck in applications: Spend control coded into one application cannot follow a shared execution flow. Each caller enforces its own idea of the budget, or none.
  • Late visibility: Overruns surface when the bill arrives. By then the spending is history, not a decision.

How Namirasoft Inference Solves the Problem

You define the limits that matter to you, per run, per chat, per day, per week, or per month, and attach the Budget in the Common tab of any inferencer. When a limit is reached, new spending through that inferencer stops until the period resets, so costs never run past the ceiling you set.

Overview of Budget Fields and Options

Below is a detailed explanation of the fields available when creating or managing a Budget. Understanding these fields helps ensure your Budget is configured correctly for your requirements.

  • ID (String): This is a unique identifier automatically assigned to the Budget when it is created. The system uses it to track, reference, and manage this specific Budget. This value is auto-generated and cannot be modified.
  • User ID (Namirasoft Account’s ID): This is the unique identifier of the Namirasoft Account user who owns this Budget. It is used internally for permission control, audit logging, and access management.
  • Workspace ID (Namirasoft Workspace’s ID): This is the identifier of the workspace this Budget belongs to, as defined in Namirasoft Workspace. A workspace is a shared organizational space where teams group their work, projects, and members.
  • Name (String): This is a label used to identify this Budget in the console. A good name states its scope. For example: “Production Monthly Budget”.
  • Cost Limit Per Run (USD): This limits how much can be spent on a single run. Once the limit is reached, the run stops.
  • Cost Limit Per Chat (USD): This limits how much can be spent in a single chat session. Once the limit is reached, the session stops accepting new requests.
  • Cost Limit Per Day (USD): This limits how much can be spent in a single calendar day. It resets automatically at the start of each day.
  • Cost Limit Per Week (USD): This limits how much can be spent in a single calendar week. It resets automatically at the start of each week.
  • Cost Limit Per Month (USD): This limits how much can be spent in a single calendar month. It resets automatically at the start of each month.
  • Description (String): This is optional explanatory text about this Budget. Use it to describe what the limits protect.
  • Created At (DateTime): This is the date and time when this Budget was created. This value is automatically generated and cannot be modified.
  • Updated At (DateTime): This is the date and time when this Budget configuration was last modified. This value is updated automatically whenever any field is changed.
