Category Console Guide
This page provides a complete guide to using the Category entity of the Namirasoft Field Console. You’ll find a breakdown of each tab and field involved in creating and managing Categories, along with explanations of how they are linked to products and entities. Use this guide to understand how Namirasoft Field helps you structure, group, and organize your data effectively.
What Is a Category in Namirasoft Field?
A Category is a way to group and organize related data within Namirasoft Field. By assigning products and entities to Categories, you create a logical structure that makes it easier to filter, search, and retrieve information. Categories act as organizational containers, ensuring that your data is not just stored, but is accessible and meaningful in context.
The Challenge in Data Organization
Raw data often becomes hard to manage when there is no consistent structure. Without categories, users may struggle to find related records, track relationships between fields, or apply filters across projects. This leads to inefficiencies, confusion, and a higher risk of errors when managing complex datasets.
How Namirasoft Field Solves the Problem
Namirasoft Field provides a simple but powerful way to organize data into Categories. Each Category connects a product and its entities with a group and a clear name, giving you both flexibility and order. Categories integrate seamlessly with fields, so that every new field you create can be aligned with the right organizational context. Unlike flat data structures that quickly become unmanageable, Namirasoft Field ensures your categories remain linked, searchable, and consistent across projects.
With Categories in place, you gain:
- Clearer organization of products and entities.
- Faster filtering and retrieval of related data.
- A scalable way to manage information as your projects grow.
Overview of AWS Watch Fields and Options
Below is a brief introduction to the fields and options you will encounter when creating a Category in Namirasoft Field. Each entry corresponds to an element you must configure; understanding these definitions will help you set up categories accurately and use them effectively across the Console.
-
ID (string): This is a system-generated unique identifier assigned to the category. You don’t set this yourself; it’s used internally to reference the watch record.
-
User ID (Namirasoft Account’s ID): This shows which user of the Namirasoft Account created the category. It does not directly affect the monitoring logic, but is used in the backend to manage permissions and history.
-
Workspace ID (Namirasoft Workspace’s ID): This refers to a workspace created in the Namirasoft Workspace app, which allows users to group projects, teams, or environments.
- Product ID (String): This is the unique identifier for the Namirasoft product associated with the category. It links the category to the correct product in the system and ensures all data references are accurate.
-
Product (Enum): Select the Namirasoft product that this category will be associated with. This helps the system know where the category applies and ensures the right data is grouped together.
-
Entity (Enum): Choose the specific entity within the product where this category will be used. Entities help separate different types of data or functional areas within the product.
-
Group (String): Enter the name of the group or team that will manage this category. This helps organize categories by department, project, or owner.
- Name (String): Give your category a clear, descriptive name so it is easy to identify and use in reports or filters.
-
Description (String): Optionally, add a brief explanation of the category’s purpose or the type of data it contains. This is helpful for team members or future reference.
-
Created At (DateTime): The date and time when this Category was originally created. This is set once and does not change.
-
Updated At (DateTime): The date and time when any of the Category’s settings or options were last changed. This updates whenever you edit the Category.
