Fiscal Year Console Guide
This page provides a complete guide to the Fiscal Year section of the Namirasoft ERP Console. A fiscal year is the accounting period your transactions are grouped into and reported over. This guide explains each field on the Fiscal Year form.
What Is a Fiscal Year?
A fiscal year is the span of time, usually twelve months, that a business measures its results over. Every journal entry belongs to a fiscal year, and reports such as the balance sheet and general ledger are produced within one.
Why the Fiscal Year Matters
The fiscal year defines when a period begins and ends, which is what makes it possible to close the books, carry balances forward, and compare one year with the next. Clear period boundaries keep your reporting consistent and your year end process clean.
How Namirasoft ERP Handles Fiscal Years
You define a fiscal year with a start and an end date under a company. The year is then opened so entries can be posted, and closed at the end of the period, which moves the year’s result into retained earnings. Opening and closing can be reversed if you need to make a correction, so the process stays under your control.
