Balance Sheet Console Guide

This page provides a complete guide to the Balance Sheet report in the Namirasoft ERP Console. The balance sheet shows your financial position on a chosen date, summarizing what the business owns and owes. This guide explains each filter you can set and what the report shows.

What Is the Balance Sheet?

The balance sheet is a summary of your account balances as of a single point in time. It brings together your assets, liabilities, and equity so you can see the financial position of the business at that moment.

Why the Balance Sheet Matters

The balance sheet is one of the core financial statements. It shows whether the business is solvent, how it is funded, and how its position changes over time, which is essential for owners, lenders, and anyone assessing the health of the company.

How Namirasoft ERP Produces the Balance Sheet

You choose a company, branch, and fiscal year, and an as of date, then narrow the report with filters and choose how to group it. Namirasoft ERP totals the balances that meet your criteria as of that date, and can convert them to the branch currency when you work across currencies.

Overview of Balance Sheet Filters and Options

The sections below explain each filter and option you can set before running the report.

  • Company (String): This limits the report to a single company. It sets which set of books you are looking at.

  • Branch (String): This limits the report to one branch within the company. Leave it empty to include every branch.

  • Fiscal Year (String): This selects the accounting period the report is based on.

  • As of Date (DateTime): This is the date the position is calculated for. The report includes every balance up to and including this date, so it answers the question of where the business stood on that day. This is the one required option on the form.

  • Accounts (List): This limits the report to one or more accounts. Leave it empty to include all accounts.

  • Party Types (List): This limits the report to balances whose party is of the selected types.

  • Parties (List): This limits the report to one or more specific parties.

  • Tags (List): This limits the report to balances carrying the selected tags.

  • Currency (String): This limits the report to balances recorded in a particular currency.

  • Has Party (Boolean): This filters the report to balances that have a party attached.

  • Has Tag (Boolean): This filters the report to balances that carry at least one tag.

  • Group by Account (Boolean): This groups the results by account, so each account shows a single combined balance.

  • Group by Party (Boolean): This groups the results by party, so you can see the position broken down by customer or supplier.

  • Show Zero (Boolean): This chooses whether accounts with a zero balance are listed. Turn it off to hide empty lines.

  • Show Debit (Boolean): This chooses whether debit balances are included.

  • Show Credit (Boolean): This chooses whether credit balances are included.

  • Convert to Branch Currency (Boolean): This converts balances into the branch’s default currency using your recorded exchange rates, so a mixed currency position can be read in one currency.

How to Read the Report

For the filters you set, the balance sheet returns a row for each account or party, followed by an overall total. Each row shows the details below.

  • Account: the account, its code, and its parent account
  • Party: the party type and party, when the report is grouped by party
  • Count: the number of lines behind the balance
  • Date Range: the earliest and latest dates included
  • Debit and Credit: the totals posted on each side
  • Balance: the net debit or credit balance
  • Currency: the currency of the balance
