Tag Console Guide

This page provides a complete guide to the Tag section of the Namirasoft ERP Console. A tag is a label you attach to journal entry lines to add a reporting dimension, such as a cost center or a project. This guide explains each field on the Tag form.

What Is a Tag?

A tag is a reusable label that classifies transactions beyond the account they post to. Tags belong to a tag group, such as Cost Center or Project, and let you slice your reports by dimensions that matter to your business without adding more accounts.

Why Tags Matter

Without tags, the only way to report on something like a project or a department is to create separate accounts for each one, which quickly clutters the chart of accounts. Tags keep the chart of accounts clean while still letting you analyze activity across any dimension you define.

How Namirasoft ERP Handles Tags

You create a tag under a company and branch and assign it to a tag group. You can then apply the tag to journal entry lines, and reports such as the general ledger and balance sheet can be filtered by tag to show activity for that dimension.

Overview of Tag Fields and Options

The sections below explain each field on the Tag form.

  • ID (String): This is the unique identifier automatically assigned to the tag by Namirasoft ERP when it is created. You do not enter this value; it is used internally to reference the tag.

  • User ID (Namirasoft Account’s ID): This is the unique ID of the Namirasoft Account that created the tag. It links the record to the user who owns it for access control and history.

  • Company (String): This is the company the tag belongs to. Each company keeps its own tags.

  • Branch (String): This is the branch, a location or division within the company, that the tag is recorded under.

  • Tag Group (String): This is the group the tag belongs to, such as Cost Center or Project. The group is the dimension, and the tag is one value within it, which keeps related tags organized together.

  • Name (String): This is the label of the tag, such as the name of a specific project or department, as it appears when you apply it and in your reports.

  • Enabled (Boolean): This controls whether the tag is active and available to apply. Turn it off to retire a tag while keeping its history intact.

  • Description (String): This is an optional note where you can explain what the tag represents or when to use it.

  • Created At (DateTime): This shows the exact date and time the tag was created. It is set automatically and does not change.

  • Updated At (DateTime): This shows the last time the tag was edited. It helps you track when the record was last maintained.
