How Container Registry Works

Set Up Your Container Registry in Five Steps

A container registry is a saved connection to a registry you already use, so your images and secrets never move. The steps below walk you through it.

Step 1: Open the Console and Create

Start a New Container Registry

Open the Container Registry menu
Click Create

Step 2: Name Your Container Registry

Give your container registry a name so you can recognize it later. A description is optional.

Enter a Name, for example prod ecr or team harbor
Add an optional Description

Step 3: Choose the Type

Select the registry you are connecting. Your choice sets which credential the connection needs.

Select your registry, such as Azure ACR or Google Container Registry

Step 4: Connect a Credential

When your type needs a credential, create one in Namirasoft Credential and connect it here. Namirasoft Container Registry never stores the secret itself.

Click the + icon next to the Credential?CredentialThe stored credential Namirasoft Container Registry uses to sign in to your registry. Its secret is encrypted in Namirasoft Secret. field
In the Namirasoft Credential tab that opens, enter the details for your registry
Click Apply, then return to the Namirasoft Container Registry tab

Select the credential you created as the Credential ID

Step 5: Apply

Click Apply to create your container registry. It appears in your list right away, ready to manage from one place.

How It Works FAQs

1. Which registry types need a credential?

Most do. Public Repository is anonymous and needs none. The Console Guide lists the credential each type uses.

2. How do I create a credential?

In Namirasoft Credential. Click the + on the credential field, enter your details, apply, and select it back on your container registry. For the full steps, see the Credential How It Works guide.

3. Where are my credentials stored?

The sensitive data in each credential is encrypted and stored in Namirasoft Secret. Whenever an app needs it, it is retrieved securely through Namirasoft Credential.

4. Can I connect more than one registry?

Yes. Create a container registry for each one, then manage them together.

5. What do I need before I start?

A Namirasoft Account, plus a credential for most registry types.

6. Can I change or delete a connection later?

Yes. Edit its name, description, or credential at any time, or delete it entirely. The registry itself is not affected.
